'Be good'

Mentor resides in the Domain of Others and the Dimension of Ethics.

Mentor is an enabler of others by championing equality and diversity in human endeavours. Mentor proactively supports others to become the best they can be and helps them back onto the right moral pathway when they veer away. Mentor says, 'do what is right, not what is easy' and supports others in doing the right thing by making the journey with them. Mentor connects fundamental human rights on a personal level, not only a legal one, and influences others to do the same. Mentor's key role is to lead the way on how to increase Ethical behaviour. Mentor collaborates with the other three 'Domain of Others' Characters in the following ways:

Who is Mentor?

It engages with others to enable their Ethical growth. Mentor is proactive in supporting another to become the best version of themselves. Its role is to keep that person heading in the correct moral direction. First and foremost, Mentor is personfocused rather than task-focused. This means that Mentor sees others as valuable individuals and not as objects to be used as tools to achieve ends. Mentors are often formal or informal teachers in our lives. Whether linked to an educational institute or even a friend or work colleague. Its primary interest is the development of the mentee. Its leadership role is to help others become 'better people'.

What does Mentor do?

Where Mentor sits in the model

At the heart of the Ethics Dimension is the question: What is right and wrong?

The Domain of Others is the domain of relationships: how you behave with family, teams and the people you lead. It is where inner work becomes visible.

The other Characters in the Ethics Dimension are Inner Referee and Custodian. The other Characters in the Domain of Others are Empath, Navigator and Storyteller.
