Conductor resides in the Domain of Context and the Dimension of Communication.

Conductor is a mass Communication specialist. It uses language, images, and timing to influence others across many platforms. It relies on its inner Domains and other Dimensions for content. In an ambiguous world, it provides clarity. Its key role is to spread the leadership message far and wide. Conductor collaborates with the other three 'Domain of Context' Characters in the following ways:

Who is Conductor?

It has clarity about high-level and widespread messaging. It brings a sense of harmony of expression to the whole. Conductor ensures that each element of the system knows its role, entrances, and exits. It ensures key messages are highlighted, repeated, and illustrated across all platforms.

Conductor is like the leader of an orchestra - bringing out the expertise of the individual players to synchronise their joint effort for the best possible impact. Another meaning of Conductor is as a substance which carries an electrical charge. Conductivity is the capacity to transmit something, such as electricity or heat. So, we can say that the leadership roles of Conductor are two-fold:

• To harmonise the voice of the parts to the whole.
• To generate conductivity in a system. Ensuring messages are transmitted to its people, customers, and stakeholders.

Communication can be used for good or for evil. The meaning of Communication is the response it elicits � thus, the words we use profoundly impact thoughts, feelings, and actions. As such, Conductor has a critical role in leadership in that it can broadcast positively or negatively. Working with developed Oracles, Custodians and Architects it can influence many to move towards an optimistic future.

Social media is a powerful Conductor platform. A competent Conductor would master such media, both new and old. Used well, it can spread messages of peace, share the good news, connect people, advertise services, promote business, educate, and inform. But such platforms have been under attack because of the potential of misuse too. The gathering and abuse of big data, the dissemination of fake news, the interference with the processes of democracy, and the spread of hateful messages. The alliance of Conductor and Custodian would ensure that use of these media platforms is fair and proper.

Each epoch has had its respective Conductor platforms. Leaders used letter writing to invite treaties with neighbours, book writing to spread ideologies and propaganda, films/posters/radio broadcasts to assist the winning of wars even. Taking control of media platforms is often also the first act of civil uprising.

Conductor completes our set of Twelve Good Leadership Characters. When all the others are in place, Conductor enables messages of Understanding, Purpose, and Ethics to influence widely.

What does Conductor do?

• Conductor gives Oracle the Communication tools that allow fuller leveraging of networks.
• Conductor gives Custodian the mechanisms to spread its message of goodness, and positively impact the world.
• Conductor gives Architect the platforms to sell its vision, and build a wider vision community.

Where Conductor sits in the model

At the heart of the Communication Dimension is the question: What needs to be seen and heard?

The Domain of Context is the outer domain: organisations, communities, society and stakeholders. It is where leadership reaches beyond the people you meet.

The other Characters in the Communication Dimension are Inner Advisor and Storyteller. The other Characters in the Domain of Context are Oracle, Custodian and Architect.

The Virtues Conductor helps you build

Virtues emerge when Characters from different Dimensions combine. Because Conductor works in the Communication Dimension, it contributes to three of the six Leadership Virtues:

• Social, the Practitioner who is a Specialist in Understanding and Communication.
• Just, the Practitioner who is a Specialist in Ethics and Communication.
• Courageous, the Practitioner who is a Specialist in Purpose and Communication.
